Did you follow us our recent journey on the Planes Trains and Automobiles meets The Bucket List tour on Facebook? If you did, we’ve decided to host a little trivia contest covering events of the trip.

Alonza with Amtrak explains about our room on the Crescent.If you didn’t, not to worry, here is a little breakdown about it. You can catch up if you like and join in the contest. It is going to be a bit of a scavenger hunt too, because our postings were over three different pages. We just thought a trivia contest might be a fun finish to the adventure. Lions Club Carnival-The Fun Begins Wednesday

Lions Club Carnival Schedule for 2016Local Lions are ready for the annual Lions Club Carnival set to open  at 630 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016.

The carnival runs Wednesday through Saturday through Oct. 8.  It closes at 10 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday and at 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Admission is $2 adults $1 students.

October 1 is Kiddie Day from 4-6 Lions Club Carnivalp.m.  Wednesday night at the carnival is can night. Bring a canned food item and get free entry into the park on Wednesday nights only.

Kiddie rides are only $1, larger rides are $2.


Vintage Goods and Farmer’s Market

facebook_event_573108389558748The Mauriceville Heritage Association invites the public to join them at their first Vintage Goods and Farmer’s Market, Oct. 1, 2015. It will be held at the Mauriceville Crawfish Festival grounds 7441 Cohenour Road behind the Mauriceville Volunteer Fire Department off of Hwy 62 N.

The Vintage Goods and Farmer’s Market will host over 50 vendors with a variety of items. For sale will be homemade treats and fresh breads, garage sale items, handmade crafts and toiletries. Also available will be clothing, quilts, custom made signs, art, and re-purposed furniture.
