The Voice runner-up Jake Worthington headlines Crawfish Fest

Who is ready for some crawfish? … and great music? Wayne Toups and Jake Worthington will headline the concert series at the 37th annual Mauriceville Crawfish Festival April 21-23. The gates will open at 5 p.m. today at 7441 Cohenour Rd, Orange Texas, with Danny Dillon on stage. The festival runs through Sunday.

Jake Worthington was named “Runner-Up” on Season 6 of the hit NBC TV Show “The Voice.” Wayne Toups has been an area favorite for years.

Champagne Room cancels at Music Fest Saturday

Update: Music Fest will end at 6:30 p.m. instead of 9 p.m. due to Champagne Room cancellation. No rain cancellation at this time. Champagne Room rescheduled for September Boat Races.

I was working on this announcement from the Orange Convention and Visitors Bureau that it was now OK to bring coolers to Saturday’s Music Fest. I went to tomorrow’s headliner, Champagne Room’s Facebook page and discovered this announcement…”It is with great disappointment that we must announce that we will not be performing at the Orange County Music Festival tomorrow night, March 25th, 2017. Lions Club Carnival-The Fun Begins Wednesday

Lions Club Carnival Schedule for 2016Local Lions are ready for the annual Lions Club Carnival set to open  at 630 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016.

The carnival runs Wednesday through Saturday through Oct. 8.  It closes at 10 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday and at 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Admission is $2 adults $1 students.

October 1 is Kiddie Day from 4-6 Lions Club Carnivalp.m.  Wednesday night at the carnival is can night. Bring a canned food item and get free entry into the park on Wednesday nights only.

Kiddie rides are only $1, larger rides are $2.
