The Lutcher Theater today announced the retirement of Jim Clark and named Lynae Sanford as the new managing director. Jim served the community well for almost 30 years, bringing us great performances. I once said I had never been to a bad show at the Lutcher and Jim said, “Then you haven’t been to the theater enough.”
Lauren Froderman, winner of “So You Think You Can Dance” Season 7, is returning for the 4th annual National Dance Day scheduled for July 29 at the Beaumont Civic Center.
We are moving indoors! The last two years, the July heat has been brutal. Since we can’t change the day, we changed the location.

Who is ready for fireworks? The City of Orange will be hosting the 2017 4th of July Concert and Fireworks Celebration, Tuesday, July 4, from 5 – 9 p.m. at the Riverfront Boardwalk and Pavilion.
The event includes live entertainment by Dustin Sonnier, beginning at 7 p.m., as well as a fireworks show at 9 p.m. There will be food, drink, and sno-cone vendors on site, as well as children’s activities. Coolers and chairs are welcome.
This event is free to the public. No dogs or pets will be allowed at the Riverfront Boardwalk and Pavilion.
