Join the Orange Blossom Dancers line dance class that is held 6-7:30 p.m. each Monday at the Salvation Army Gym. Enter through the door on the side of the building. Classes are offered by Dayle Gunn-Weatherford for a $5 donation to the Salvation Army.
Even if you have never taken a dance class, come and learn the basic steps and simple line dances.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Posse hosts a ranch sorting competition the first Saturday of the month at the Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo Arena, 6610 Hwy 105, Orange, TX 77630.
Books open at 6 p.m., with the event starting at 7 p.m.

Area senior citizens eagerly expect the annual city of Pinehurst Labor Day picnic each year. It is traditionally held on Labor Day, which is the first Monday in September.
The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Family Worship Center located at 2300 41st Street. Workers will begin serving food around 11:15 a.m. In years past there have been over 700 in attendance.
Robert’s Meat Market and Restaurant will once again be catering, serving smoked links, potato salad, chicken and sausage gumbo and dessert.
Music will be provided by Doug Childress for dancing and the Orange Blossoms will perform
Door prize drawings for those 60 and up usually include a flat screen TV and rocking chairs.
Parking is available at the church for some of the vehicles. However, others can park at Sabine Federal Credit Union. A shuttle bus will provide transportation to the event starting around 9 a.m. and later return them safely back to their vehicles.
