“Tuesdays with Morrie” offers life lessons through dying with ALS

Orange Community Players, Inc. will be offering “Tuesdays with Morrie” beginning Thursday. The play spotlights Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), more commonly known as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease.”  It is a neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. It is ultimately fatal over time.

It is the true story of the relationship of a former college professor and student that develops 16 years later, over the course of Morrie’s disease with their visits each Tuesday. But it is much more than that. It is a lesson in life and living; and what is truly important.

Ten Tenors took on Broadway

Melodie McClain and I enjoyed the Ten Tenors at the Lutcher recently and I even got to take a picture with Ben Stephens, the member I interviewed for the advance article for The Record Newspapers I did before the show.

They KILLED the “West Side Story” songs and the one from “Les Miserables.” Really made me want to see THOSE shows when they get here in the next couple of months. If you ever get a chance to see The Ten Tenors, do it! They don’t disappoint!
