Open Auditions – Fun for Funds Mania!

Beaumont Printing

Orange Community Player’s Presents:
Fun for Funds Mania!
June 8th, 9th, 10th at 7pm and June 11th at 2pm
Our 13th Annual Fun for Funds will be a musical tribute to the greatest and most influential act of the rock era, that introduced more innovations into popular music than any other rock band of the 20th century. Relentlessly imaginative and experimental, the Beatles grabbed hold of the international mass consciousness in 1964 and never let go for the next six years, always staying ahead of the pack in terms of creativity but never losing their ability to communicate their increasingly sophisticated ideas to a mass audience. Their supremacy as rock icons remains unchallenged to this day, decades after their breakup in 1970.
Open auditions will be held at Orange Community Players on May 1st at 7pm and May 2nd at 7:30pm.
Rehearsals will begin on May 8th.
Final Performances will be June
We are looking for soloists, ensemble and choral members, dancers and musicians. We encourage everyone to come out and sing you favorite Beatles song! (Only those wishing to audition for solo parts will be required to sing at auditions) All ages and skill levels are welcomed.

Guys and Dolls at OCP

Pop Central Popcorn

I slipped into one of the dress rehearsals for “Guys and Dolls” at the Orange Community Playhouse to check it out. It starts its two week run Thursday at 7:37 p.m.

They have created lighted signs for the backdrop since it is supposed to be on Broadway in New York City. Light strips were used to mimic the neon lights of days gone by. I think it took them up a notch in using technology. They also used their screen to “roll credits” at the start, which was something new. I also appreciated how they were using the screen to convey travel from one country to another. It’s kind of cool how they are starting to incorporate some techniques used only in movies and TV and are adapting them to live theater. Continue reading Guys and Dolls at OCP
