Our Ministries

Empowers children, ages 8 thru 18, to demonstrate that Jesus is the Light of the world by lighting altar candles and assisting in worship.
Meets the 2nd Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m.

Communion Stewards

Prepares the communion table before and after the service. They assist in administering the Sacraments of Holy Communion and Baptism.
Meets the Saturday before the 1st Sunday at 9:00 a.m.

Agape Choir

A group of loving men and women who lift up the name of Jesus through songs and praise, led by Music Director, Kendall Brown.
Sings on 1st and 4th Sundays
Rehearsal- 1st and 4th Thursday at 6:00 p.m.

Combined Choir

Men, Women and Youth lifting up the name of Jesus, under the leadership of Mr. Kendall Brown, Choir Director.
Sings on 5th Sundays
Rehearsal- The Thursday before the 5th Sunday at 6:00 p.m.

Male Chorus

A group of men who magnify the Lord with anointed songs and praise.
Sings on 2nd Sundays
Rehearsal- The Tuesday before the 3rd Sunday at 7:00 p.m.

United Methodist Men

Provides a gathering place for all men of the Church & the community to fellowship, rejuvenate, fortify, and inspire one another. Participates in local church and community projects.
Meets the last Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m.

United Methodist Women

Participates in local and global UMC mission projects; provides a supportive fellowship for women growing in the Lord.
Meets the 3rd Sunday of the month, after the worship celebration.

Feed My Sheep

A group of women and men who reach out to community shut-ins and those in need to provide weekend meals.
Meets every Saturday at 11:00 p.m. to prepare, serve, and deliver meals. Volunteers are always needed. Contact the church to find out how you can help.
The ministry serves meals from 12:00 noon – 1:00 P.M. each Saturday.

We Care Ministries

A group of women who have a mandate to reach children of all races, who have lost parents through HIV/AIDS. Our team in Salem Church knit squares to send to South Africa that is knitted together with others from all over the world to make blankets and coats for HIV/AIDS babies. The charity is run entirely by volunteers in South Africa. For more information, go to Knit-A-Square

Youth/Children’s Ministries

Youth/Children’s Choirs
The choir ministers through song and provides positive role models for youth.
Sings on 2nd Sundays
Rehearsal – The Wednesday before the 2nd Sunday at 6:00pm.
Youth Praise Dancers
Rehearsal – Planned and coordinated by Youth Director
Children and Youth Activities and Missions
Coordinated monthly by Youth and Children Coordinators

Adult Ushers & Greeters

Greet and assist worshippers with seating, as well as insure their comfort during Worship Celebrations, distributes church bulletins, and receives offering.
Meets the 2nd Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m.

Junior Ushers
Children ages, five to 16, provides an opportunity to grow in knowledge and service to God through ushering during the worship celebrations.
Meets the 2nd Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m.

Our Bible Studies
Wacky Tuesday Bible Study

Class Makeup: Retirees, stay-at-home moms, shift workers, and community drop-ins.
The class studies various books of the Bible, topical concerns, spiritual formation books and the Disciples curriculum.
The class is facilitated by the Rev. Dr. Carolyn McCall and meets each Tuesday at 12:00 Noon.

Wednesday Night “Upbeat” Bible Study

Class Makeup – An intergenerational, spiritually upbeat, participatory group with concerns about relationships, self-respect, and making healthy life choices.
Topics of discussion are applicable to family, friends, parents and the workplace as the group studies Christ and His relationship in their lives.
The class studies the Bible, topical concerns, spiritual formation books and the Disciples curriculum.
Facilitated by Mr. Bennie Smith, Lay Leader, it meets each Wednesday at 6:00 P.M.
